THE
LEAF FISH The Leaf Fish is a master of disguise. It blends into
its surroundings by looking like a leaf.
It also has patches on its body that look similar to coraline
algae that helps it blend in.
BEGINNER
LEVEL :: DRIFT DIVE / WALL DIVE A
much under-rated dive, Turtle Cove begins with an entry point
in a small, blue hole and exits onto a beautiful
and healthy
wall -
this
is a spectacular dive. There
is a great variety of marine life on
this
dive - a
nice combination of small fish, corals and sharks. The
wall is an excellent place to spot
lionfish, eels, and scorpion fish. Even
though the name suggest turtles, it
doesn't necessarliy mean that this is a 'turtle' dive
- the site gets its name from the remains of a turtle that
were found here when the it
was discoverd. Any turtles you do see here will probably
be toward the end of the dive in shallower water.
As
you approach the corner you will swim through a large school
of black snappers. At the corner proper,
you will see schools of bigeye trevally, cruising sharks.
More unusual species, like frog fish, leaf fish and
nudibranchs, can also be found on the dive
if you look closely. This is a great dive for both
macro and wide angle photography.
