This giant pocket change is still used for ceremonial purposes on the nearby island of Yap, but on Palau it's just one more of the many unusual artifacts to be found throughout the islands.

OTHER AMENITIES IN AND AROUND KOROR
In the capital city of Koror you will also find a bank and a post office, a number of good restaurants, and have ample opportunity to stock up on locally made souvenirs and produce.  Radio-equipt taxis are available for hotel transfers and local travel.  Rental car hire can also be arranged through Dive Palau.

WHAT TO WEAR
Pack plenty of cool, loose fitting clothing and include a hats and sunglasses - the Palauan sun can be very strong.  Please respect local customs by not wearing swimsuits, shorts or other inappropriate clothing in town, villages or public buildings.
